Does Acupuncture Hurt?
An acupuncture needle is about the diameter of a few hairs. Depending on where the needle is inserted, most people feel little to no discomfort. After the needle is inserted, you will feel sensations varying from tingly, cold, hot, or even heavy.
There are very few side effects to acupuncture. The most common include bruising, dizziness, and in very rare cases fainting. Most patients leave a treatment with the feeling of euphoria or increased energy!
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments needed varies from person to person.
For complex or long-standing conditions, one or two treatments a week for several months may be recommended.
For acute problems, usually fewer visits are required.
As well as being effective for treatment, acupuncture and traditional chinese medicine is a truly preventative medicine and can be incorporated into your wellness regimen.
